Terri’s dharma (soul’s purpose) is to help people by teaching yoga. Teaching Yoga has two major components, training (i.e. knowledge) and teaching (i.e. practical). Although, Terri has successfully completed her RYT 200 & RYT 500 credentials, she plans to continue to study to be able to obtain RYT 1000 (i.e. Yoga Therapist curriculum) status. On the practical teaching aspect, as of Nov 28 (2014) Terri has successfully achieved her E-rating (i.e. Yoga Alliance requirement, minimum of 1000 hours of teaching calculated from for her first RYT rating). She is on track to obtain her E rating for RYT 500. Both RYT Certificates and “E”-rating enable Terri to better meet the needs of her students by teaching them to be aware of their bodies and guiding them to reach the full expression of each asana (Sanskrit term for yoga pose).
Terri’s knowledge and experience base enable her to teach everyone including those that need a tailored approach (e.g. pregnant, plus size, elder, trauma). She is also one of the first instructors in the East Coast to be certified to teach Yoga on the Indo Board® (a specially designed Stand-Up Paddle board). Terri is an engineer by trade. She is happily married and has celebrated her 25th wedding anniversary this year.
